These responses will keep you from dealing with the situation. The other responses are part of the mind’s habit of doing what you let it do.

2) Do something – Do something that is fun and you can do quickly. Make the situation go away by doing something you like doing. For example, if you’re scared about your promotion at work, go visit a friend or go take a bubble bath. Don’t waste time on it. Do something you’re good at and enjoy doing it.

3) Get a pet – You don’t have to own a pet. Just get someone who loves animals or has a pet to go with his/her household. The animal will provide distraction. A pet will help you get rid of the stressful situation. A pet will bring you a feeling of contentment.

4) Give yourself a reward – If you are having a bad day, do something you enjoy. It doesn’t matter how, just get it done. Just do it. The reward will come back to you. Make sure the reward is something you can enjoy. Not something you have to keep for a long time. For example, take a bath in a pink bath tub, or watch a funny movie. That’s something you’ll remember as soon as you watch it.

Don’t write or tell stories in your own head. The reason is simple. We’re used to people speaking to us in a loud voice. When you’ll be used to it, it’s easier for you to talk to yourself in that way. It’s the same for stories you tell yourself. These stories are also aimed to relax. Don’t keep these kinds of things in your head. Throw them away. They won’t help you.

3) Avoid – Don’t go to your workplace, to your friends, to your parents, to your spouse. It’s better to stay at home and watch TV. There are many situations you can stay at home. It’s just a matter of you like it.

4) Do something – Don’t watch mindless TV shows, do something like running, mountain climbing, hiking. Do something that makes you feel good. Then your mind won’t be wandering constantly. It’s better if you have something productive in mind. Don’t stay at home and do nothing. And you must try to do something.

5) Do some other things – It’s best to mix your work with other things, or you’ll only be stressed in one area. You can have a cup of hot coffee with your dinner. There are many other things that can relieve your stress. (You can read a book, take a bath, or go shopping).
